Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle, followed by a good bottle of beer.

Golf is harder than baseball. In golf, you have to play your foul balls.
If you find you do not mind playing golf in the rain, the snow, even during a hurricane, here's a valuable tip: your life is in trouble.
Gol…

Are you serious???!!!???
As an iconic figure, I love JD. He might be the only guy to drink more Diet Cokes a day than me. But this video takes the cake.

I am not sure what to think now...other than he is one massive Hill Billy!

I loved this event!
Last year Tiger Woods said that a 10-handicapper couldn't break 100 at Torrey Pines site of this years 2008 U.S. Open.
Well organizers put together a foursome of celebrities and an average Joe.
Here were the results.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (handicap index is 2.2) shot a 13-over-par 84.
Pop star Justin Timberlake (a 6.0) shot 98.
"Today" TV host Matt Lauer (a 6.2) shot 100. (come on Matt...we needed one less stroke from you buddy)
John Atkinson, a contest…

Lung Cancer Alliance-Nebraska (LCA-NE) Advocate and stage IV lung cancer survivor, John Atkinson has won the Golf Digest U.S. Open Contest. John was one of five finalists selected from over 56,000 entries.
He will try to break 100 at Torrey Pines, the same course played by the pros for this year's U.S. Open. Atkinson will compete in a foursome that includes NBC Today Show host, Matt Lauer, Dallas Cowboy's quarterback, Tony Romo and recording artist and former member of N'Sync, Justin Timberlak…

Improving Your Stance – After a few missed fairway or shots that have traveled off the beaten path, golfers typically make alignment adjustments. With these adjustments or compensations the golfer intends to steer or guide the ball to the target. (The alignment of your feet and body in relation to your target-line). If you play like an insider, someone who understands and practices the fundamentals of a sound golf swing, you too will find yourself hitting those targets.
Becoming an Insider to t…

Pardon my french BUT What the F@#$!.
My grandpa is turning in his grave.
I stumbled on this one surfing around
www.tattoogolf.com. The days of plaid pants and pink izod shirts are a distant memory now.
I do think this company found a nice little niche with the beer drinking golf leagues. I admit I would love a shirt or hat but wouldn't get caught dead wearing it on the course.

I met the owners of Executive Greens at a golf show in Milwaukee. They are a professional crew that has done some amazing work.
It is amazing more golfers do not have a putting green at their homes or basements. We all are guilty of spending $500 for a driver every other year. A small…

Don't buy a putter until you've had a chance to throw it.
Never try to keep more than 300 separate thoughts in your mind during your swing.
When your shot has to carry over a water hazard, you can either hit one more club or two more balls.
If you're afraid a full shot might reach the green while the foursome ahead of you is still putting out, you have two options: you can immediately shank a lay-up or you can wait until the green is clear and top a ball halfway there..
The less skilled…

Winter is long in Wisconsin plus I do not live near a practice facility so I wanted to make an investment in a high grade putting surface.
I have dozens of putting cups, trays, electronic gadgets but I had a major dilema. My carpet rolled too slow and my hardwood floors was way too fast. So all these gadets are useless. I did buy a cheap walmart putting matt but it was too short and I had no feel since every putt was uphill.
I began my research for large high quality putting area green.
I stu…

My dad always says, "getting old sucks!"
After hitting the milestone this past year of turning 35 years old, I soon realized I need to do a little stretching before my workouts and in some cases even before I walk 18 holes. Gone are the days of running 3 miles or playing hours of basketball…
