"The PGA of America is truly honored to return to Whistling Straits," said Championship Director Ryan Jordan. "This venue is a perfect match for our great Championship, and will provide players from around the world with a difficult, but fair challenge in August of 2010. Whistling Straits proved in 2004 that it is a major championship venue. A record number of fans proved that the people of Wisconsin appreciate great golf and embrace this great Championship. The PGA of America is thrilled to be back in Wisconsin and expects another memorable Championship in August of 2010."
Consistent with The PGA of America's mission of growing the game of golf, there are several ticket packages designed to give more people an opportunity to participate in the major championship. Admission ticket prices range from $30 for a Monday practice round ticket to $450 for a week-long Wanamaker Club ticket.
Ticket upgrade opportunities are being introduced for the first time at Whistling Straits. Viewing Suites will be constructed adjacent to several greens at Whistling Straits. These shaded, open-air venues will offer guests with a reserved view of golf while they enjoy a complimentary drink or a mid-afternoon snack. In addition to the Viewing Suites, a reserved seating grandstand will be built next to the 18th green, offering a reserved seat next the Straits finishing hole.
Also new for 2010 will be an updated junior ticket policy. Juniors, age 17 and under, will be allowed access into the Championship Grounds with an accompanying ticketed adult. Each ticked adult will be allowed (4) junior admissions to the PGA Championship at no additional charge. Junior tickets must be picked up onsite at the Will Call Office at the Championship entrance on the day of admission.
